Undone

Speckled light drapes the earth

neath towering canopies rise

the tune that wakes the sleeping self

softly drifting on the morn.

The shine of wave crests rebound

as lapping waters soothe

no bath has felt as good as this

since the rise of last full moon.

A breath of air, a breath of breeze

a sigh to take on charge of day

dancing leaves do quake and wave

as birds all have their say.

My heart consumes the moments here

amongst lievened senses come

the words that free my mind alone

the sweetness of coming undone.

Inspired to Write

So many times I’m adventuring outside I find myself in awe of the beauty around me. Like so many others, the grandeur of the outdoors fascinates me. Oftentimes I come home and just want to hold onto that feeling! Sometimes that means I try to pain it. Other times I write about it. My favorite medium for writing is poetry and free-writing. I want to start melding that two together, to allow you all to enter into the words that come to mind as I look at a painting I’ve made. Keep a look out on my Instagram for new posts. I’ll be posting the poems here as well as behind the images! I’m excited to share this with you all and I hope you enjoy it! The first poem is written below! Check out the gallery to find the painting linked to it!

Among the Pines

Among the pines

and falling snow

my eyes close

I feel known

Face is chilled

and heart is warm

breathing out

calms the storm

Mind quiet

wind a song

melody arises

as I walk along

I hear my tune

my eyes crease

laugh aloud

a smile creeps

Among the pines

I’m present now

Joy delights

at every bough.
